After 7 weeks in the army, I think that it's like back to the same old situation again. I'm at the crossroad once again and stuck between a rock and a hard place. Whether I expressed interest to be a commander or not, I'm still going to chiong sua and should not even think of getting an 8-5 vocation. The difference lies in the respect, responsibility and pay. No matter what, I'm going to do my time...
So how has the Army changed me?
1. The room must be clean and you can be dirty while it was the other way round back then.
2. It exposes me to new and interesting 'punishments' and vuglarities. Hah~ My favourite would be the latest catch phrase in my coy. "I'm a 7 weeks old maggot"
3. Chao keng will not solve your problems, it only shows your character as a person.
4. While singaporeans are debating on standards of hawker food, I'm eating combat rations & actually love some of it. With names like oregano pasta and japanese curry noodle, the army had improved alot from the 'dog' biscuits.
5. News had became history to me.
An Army song
Training to be soldiers.
Fight for our land.
Once in our life,
two years of our time.
Have you ever wondered
Why must we served?
Because we loved our land (Cos we have no choice)
And we want it to be free to be free ya! (And we lan lan have to serve have to serve ya!)
Stand up
Be on your guard
C'mon everybody do your part
C'mon everybody
Soul and heart
Do it for our nation
Do it for our Singapore ya!
